Universal Price Alert is a Chrome extension that helps users track product prices and receive drop alerts. This policy explains what information is processed, where it is stored, and how it is used.
Information We Process
The extension may process the following data in order to provide price tracking features:
- Product page URLs selected by the user for tracking.
- Page title and selected price element selector for tracked items.
- Price values and timestamps for price history.
- User-created groups and custom store templates.
- Extension settings such as check frequency.
How Data Is Stored
Tracked data is stored locally using Chrome extension storage in the user browser profile. We do not operate a required user account system for this extension.
Data Sharing and Selling
We do not sell personal data collected by this extension. We do not share extension data with data brokers. Data is used only to deliver the extension functionality requested by the user.
Affiliate Routing
For certain supported stores, outbound product links may include affiliate parameters. This does not change the product selected by the user and is used to support the service.
Permissions Usage
- storage: save tracked items, templates, and settings.
- alarms: run scheduled price checks.
- notifications: show price drop alerts.
- tabs and scripting: access selected product pages and extract price data.
- activeTab: run selection logic on the active tab at user action.
- downloads: export template backup files when user requests export.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to reduce risk, but no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Your Choices
- You can remove tracked items and groups at any time from the extension dashboard.
- You can uninstall the extension at any time from Chrome.
- You can use backup export/import features for portability.
